So, a bit more protracted than I thought, but here we are and Villa are in Nashville looking to both implement the structure and probably avoid deportation.
Me, I hadn’t really meant to flip the switch just yet, but I woke up, started clicking things and there was no looking back.
I guess the interesting bits tonight are whether Ramsey sits again, and whether Malen and Ollie play together or if Malen is auditioning for Ollie’s spot.
Beyond that, you’d think much remains the same. Not sure Buendia has a way back, but at least he’s getting some minutes to maybe make a case.
That’s about all I’ve got, atm. Nashville should be better than St. Louis, so we’ll see what everyone’s got. And I’m doing this from my phone, without an image or excerpt, to see what happens
Over to you.

HAH!!!
You can run, you can hide but I will hunt you down, I will find you and I will bore you with my expert opinion.
Nice one Mr Clark.
Haha…good to see you, jbd.
Probably worth the switch just for functioning avatars again.
The proverbial game of 2 halves. For the Ollie critics, how much did we miss his movement in the second half? Can’t say I thought Rogers contributed anything. Wonderful pass by Digne and finish by Ollie. Sharp goal too from Malen. But oh dear, Mings, Konsa and Gauci were poor. They slowed the game down to nothing and it became just as we bottled it against Manure and Palace. Before those changes we carried a threat.
Your arrival is timely Mr 656!!
God…the Villa calendar misled me, so now have to watch the highlights when they’re available.
That said, not looking forward to the 2nd half, apparently.
Passing out from the back to beat the press remains our one big concern for me. They need to spend a lot of time on the training ground fixing it. The number of times we play a ball to the man on the edge of the box but dead central and who is already marked is a hanging offence. We know the FB’s provide the angles for the receiver but so many times he is unable to pass it on first time and has to beat his man before losing it and costing us a goal. We’ve seen T’mans and Kamara get caught in possession. Yesterday it was the turn of SJM and Konsa. And I didn’t think Konsa was fouled, he was just guilty of dawdling, seen it so many times.
Konsa and Tyro need to speed up their releases. I know they dawdle to invite the press, thereby creating space behind it but they have to be efficient in finding that space. This part lets them down.
Bogey looked more comfortable in central defence than he did at FB. He could replace Disasi this season. We saw a better performance from Bailey but he is still prone to falling over when challenged and stays on the ground. He produced a better defensive element to his game than Iling Junior managed. Kamara and Onana looked strong, less so T’mans and SJM.
That’s American trip over, the new keeper looks the part gauci not so,defensive wise bogarde looks impressive the young lads are ready for a loan move, midfield looks our strongest position, attacking options are a worry the idiots that want watkins sold are just idiots, Rogers malen looked good as did young lad jimoh,as for ramsay Bailey beundi really not sure as for filling junior another loan with him doing better
For me we are short at least 2 attackers, hopefully additions are lined up,asenio getting bit noise again
Agree with you both, Plug and JV.
Chelsea signed their 50th player under bohely in under 3 years, they have 15/6 players in their bomb squad, utd have 5 big names in their bomb squad, city high profile grealish Philip’s at least one of main Keepers, arsenal bound to have few,we are down to dendonker and moreno
Dunno how anyone can look at those numbers and say the spending rules are good for the sport, JV.
Looks like we could be getting an attacking option from nice in France, funny tanswell said this morning it would be a week to 10 days before any movement
Evan guesand a striker around 30m,so we are skint
Looking at his numbers in the Townley article it looks like good value for money. 12 goals & 9 assists last year. If he can come close to that rate under Emery he’ll be up there with Ollie and Morgan.
‘Next Drogba’…Duran Mk Il?
Shades of Jonathan Kodjia and Rudy Gestede?
We lose him for 6 weeks to the Africa Cup of Nations. He gets crocked and never fulfills his potential?
That’s the Villa shaded pessimism.
He does a Benteke, we flog him for squillions and buy a load of French players but this time we win the chumpions league.
WEIRD!
I posted this at 9:30. Is this site on another time zone?
We are shopping in French Ligue 1 at the moment with Guessand from Nice and Bizot from Brest. Must admit I know nothing about Guessand so will have to wait and see him in action. If he’s really up to speed, it will still take him 6 months to get used to Unai’s methods.
Jbd…just checked. It was set to the default of UTC+0. I’ve changed it to UTC+1.
We are English in England you know we need everything to be tickety boo or else our whole world falls apart.
Can’t have that now.
New contract for digne,on reduced terms, bids I for bravearse mcginn rebutted,Rogers I jury reports looking ok,another busy day at illa
Never a dull moment, JV. Interesting we extended Digne. I like that he’s staying, the rotation is good.
New post up, I must be delirious.
